Employee Ownership

We’re employee owned and recognized as a leader in the building automations industry.

Are you ready for Employee-Ownership?

Basepoint Building Automations is a 100% Employee-Owned Company, and all full-time and part-time, non-signatory employees become employee-owners on their first day of employment.

What does being an Employee-Owner mean?

It means we own our success. Our employee-owners bring innovation and passion to the table every day. We collaborate and make things happen. It means our ideas matter. Our work ethic matters. Our commitment matters. It means we all have a stake in the game. It means each new idea that improves a process, workflow, or positively impacts the customer experience, makes a difference. We have a “leave it better than we found it” mentality and it applies to all aspects of our company culture.

How an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) works

Basepoint Building Automations is 100% Employee-Owned and has been since 2011. As a non-signatory employee, you automatically become an employee-owner on your first day of employment. No action is required on your end to become an employee-owner.

Each year, every active employee owner receives shares of Basepoint stock. Shares are paid for with company profits. There is no cost to you or contribution by you whatsoever. Your shares are held in your “employee stock ownership program” or “ESOP” account until you leave the company.

How do you make a difference as an Employee-Owner?

You use your voice. You bring new ideas. You collaborate with other employee-owners to make things better in the organization. You take your ownership seriously by working on your personal and professional development. You take a break when you need it. You work efficiently and reduce waste. You hold yourself and your peers accountable. You have fun and you work hard.

Employee Ownership is a team endeavor.

How does Employee-Ownership impact you financially?

Each year you receive additional shares and as the company grows and performs better, your shares can increase in value. Your work directly impacts the value of the company, meaning your hard work pays off in company stock valuation. Employee-Ownership closes the loop between the company’s success and your financial success. The better the company performs, the more your shares are worth.

To reward long-term commitment among our owners, your shares are subject to a vesting schedule. Vested shares are yours and cannot be taken back, even if you leave Basepoint. Over time more of your shares become vested until you are 100% vested after five years.
